The new target is for 132 Armata to be delivered by 2022. However, a small number of aircraft continued to use turrets, notably maritime patrol aircraft such as the Avro Shackleton used one as an offensive weapon against
small unarmed surface targets. The Boeing B-52 jet bomber and many of its contemporaries (especially Russian) featured a tail-mounted chin (a British English term), or "remote turret", an unmanned tower, but often with a field more limited fire.
This robust new armored vehicle was intended to replace the thousands of Soviet-era BMPs in the Russian army. These troop transport vehicles come in several different models, all lightly armored but heavily armed with cannons, machine guns and anti-tank rocket launchers.
According to The Military Balance 2020, the Russian military has more than 4,000 BMPs in active military formations and 8,500 in reserve. Five years earlier, Russia debuted a fleet of advanced new armored vehicles during the annual Victory Day parade.

While a new main battle tank with a revolutionary unmanned turret called the T-14 Armata got most of the attention, another vehicle of potentially equal importance was an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) called Kurganets-25. Britain developed the modern tank in the early 1900s as a response to the rise of trench warfare.
In the battles of the First World War, opposing forces dug parallel fortifications of trenches guarded by barbed wire and machine guns. This strategy resulted in heavy casualties on both sides. To advance any ground, soldiers had to storm the enemy's trench, sacrificing dozens of men for the chance that a few could get through the mud and bullets.

Tracking vehicles can easily travel over rough terrain because the track contacts a large area of the ground. A car grips the ground with only the bottom of four tires, but a tank grips it with dozens of feet of track.
Plus, the track has a great tread that sinks into muddy surfaces and never flats like a tire. Early ships such as the Monitor and the converted HMS Royal Sovereign had poor sea-keeping qualities limited to coastal waters.
HMS Captain of 1869 was one of the first turreted sailing ships. Poor design led to a low, top-heavy freeboard boat being lost in a storm. Over time, the number of towers carried and the number of cannons built increased.

Airtight doors and litter boxes are opened and closed to allow passage between areas of the tower. In general, with large-caliber rifles, a motorized or assisted magazine is required to force the heavy shell and load it into the breech.
Turret size is a factor in combat vehicle design. One dimension mentioned in terms of turret design is the "turret ring diameter", which is the size of the diaphragm at the top of the chassis where the turret sits.
Also, the Kurganets were allegedly criticized for being too large, which led to a redesign. In 2017, the Ministry of Defense pushed the production date to 2022. That same year, a BMP designer described the Kurganets as a flawed design to the Russian press.
Many modern surface warships have mounts for large caliber guns, although calibers are now between 3 and 5 inches (76 and 127 mm). Gun casings are usually simply waterproof covers for the gun mounting equipment and are made of lightweight, unarmored materials such as glass-reinforced plastic.
Modern turrets are usually automatic in their operation, with no people working on them and only a small team feeding solid ammunition into the feed system. Smaller caliber weapons often work on the autocannon principle and in fact may not even be turrets, they may simply be bolted directly to the deck.
However, what about this issue with the level of "realism" that Lego has set for them? First, the 7622 series is based on a historical theme, rather than simply buying military toys. This Lego army set is designed to encourage children to learn about history.

The most important new design may be the Boomerang 8x8 wheeled APC, intended to eventually replace Russia's huge inventory of Soviet-era BTR armored vehicles.
